Hi, I'm Joseph
I'm a father of 3 boys here on earth and one in heaven, and I grew up in a family with 6 brothers.
I have a desire to help boys become real men and I have a vision to see every boy become a real man for God and their families.
I want to see every boy understand who they truly are.
At "Becoming Real Men", we have high hopes and dreams for boys around the world.
My wife Emily and I have had many discussions about how to help our own boys gain the attributes and wisdom necessary to stand for what's right and lead out in the world.
Having grown up in a large family involved in my church and the Boy Scouts of America program, I learned that boys can lead. They need to lead. God wants them to lead their families and others in righeousness.
This kind of leadership is not "being in charge". It's about them knowing so firmly who they really are inside as a son of the Most High God, that they naturally begin to love others, share with others, and invite others to join them.

Our mission is to help boys become real men, and men to become better men. We believe every boy has the potential to be a real man for God and their families.

How It Works
Boys start a 10-month course (although they can go as fast as they'd like) with daily and weekly adventures including video lessons based on true stories of real men, character-building challenges and outdoor adventures that help create lasting transformation.
Each month, your son will complete a "journey" focused on a specific character trait like love, integrity, patience, and obedience.
Each week, your son watches or listens to a video of a true story of a real man who exemplifies a specific character quality.
Your son gets to choose from adventures that build character and develop skills.
Watch your son grow in wisdom, strength, and character through our dashboard. Even ask your son what story he learned about this week!

The Ancient Greek Meaning of "Meekness"
In ancient Greek, the word for "meekness" was πραΰτης (praütēs), which was used to describe a powerful war horse that had been trained to respond to its rider's gentle touch.
These horses were incredibly strong and powerful, capable of carrying warriors into battle and pulling heavy loads. But what made them truly remarkable was their ability to be controlled by a gentle hand.

Just like these magnificent horses, we want our boys to develop true strength - the kind that comes from character, discipline, and the ability to be gentle and controlled, even when they have great power.
